Pleasant Oaks Grooming was proudly established in 1973 by Anita Antink, who ran the shop with her daughter. In 1999, Anita mentored a young woman, Annett Ilyev, interested in grooming. Annett worked part time for Anita, where grew her passion and skills grooming. The two remained close friends for years to come. Annett had always dreamt of owning her own grooming shop. In 2016, it came time for Anita to retire and the shop naturally transitioned ownership from Anita to Annett. Annett takes great pride in her neighborhood grooming shop and its roots. She has since renovated the shop, added new equipment, and expanded services from small pets under fifteen pounds to most medium and large breeds. Pleasant Oaks Grooming is proud to continue serving our community.

Welcome!
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and my shop! It is with great pride and joy that I care for the pets of our community.

A bit about myself. I’ve always had a love for animals, starting in my childhood. I was always rescuing the neighborhood dogs. For my tenth birthday, my father got me my very first miniature poodle, Jessie. My love for dogs, especially Poodles, sprouted from here.

In my late twenties, I met Anita, the former owner of the shop, who introduced me to the world of grooming. With her mentorship, my skills grew as did my passion. This passion expanded into something new.

I became interest in showing and breeding standard poodles. Through this experience, I have gained 20+ years of exposure to various breeds, breed standard trims, and the methodology behind proper trims. All my life, I aspired to own a grooming shop. With great joy, in 2016, I became the owner of Pleasant Oaks Grooming, where I have been able to live out my dream.

I have made the shop my own through my experiences, renovating, and increasing our scope of work.

It is with great pleasure we service the community and their precious fur family members!

Our grooming shop specializes in breed specific trims and pet trims. We offer a very clean, open, and calm environment with gentle handed staff.

MEET THE OWNER

Prep

  • Nail trim, ear cleaning, and rough brush out.

Prima Shampoo Machine

  • The Prima shampoo Machine applies the shampoo down to the root, removing oils from the skin and hair. Additionally, it integrates the shampoo and water, using less product and water, making it environmentally friendly.

Envirogroom Gentle Clean Shampoo

  • Our shampoo is Envirogroom, Gentle Clean, which is paraben free, wheat free, gluten free, organic, biodegradable, hypoallergenic, and tearless. For pets with extra sensitive skin, we use an oatmeal formula. Every pet is shampooed twice to ensure all dirt and oils are thoroughly removed. For those needing flea removal, we also have a neem flea treatment.

Mighty Wind Dryer

  • We never use crate dryers as this can overheat your pet. Instead, each pet is hand dried with a Mighty Wind Dryer which straightens the hair while drying, leading to a more even haircut. For pets with undercoat, the Mighty Wind dryer helps us remove all the loose hair.

Groom

  • Pets are thoroughly brushed out and groomed appropriately to their breed standard and owner preferences.

Finishing Touches

  • All pets are given a bandana or bows and a treat, given owner’s approval.
